Description:
White or slightly yellowish torpedo-shaped suppositories, with a smooth or slightly oily surface with a recess in the base.
Product form:

Contraindications

Indications

Interaction with other drugs
The simultaneous use of high doses Guttalaks® Express or diuretics and corticosteroids may increase the risk of electrolyte imbalance (hypokalemia).
Electrolyte imbalance (hypokalemia) can lead to increased sensitivity to the action of cardiac glycosides.
Use of the drug Guttalaks® Express concurrently with other laxatives may potentiate the side effects of the gastrointestinal tract.
Overdose

Bisacodyl, as a laxative, acting at the level of the colon, stimulates the natural process of evacuation in the lower gastrointestinal tract. Therefore bisacodyl no effect on digestion or food or calorie intake of essential nutrients in the small intestine.
Pharmacokinetics:
Absorption: Negligible. Bisacodyl metabolism to the active metabolite, bis (p-hydroxyphenyl) -pyridyl-2-methane occurs under the action of enzymes (esterases) colonic mucosa membranes. Long-term use can lead to loss of fluid, electrolyte imbalance, hypokalemia. Fluid loss during defecation can lead to dehydration, which may be accompanied by symptoms such as thirst and oliguria. Dehydration can cause harm to the body (eg, renal failure, in elderly patients), so if the above symptoms the drug should be discontinued and may be renewed only under medical supervision.
