Description

Composition
Active substance:
1 g of the preparation contains: hydrocortisone acetate – 0.5 g ;.
Excipients:
Methyl parahydroxybenzoate (methyl paraben), petrolatum.
Product form:
0.5% ophthalmic ointment According 3.0 g or 5.0 g in a tube of aluminum. Each tube with instructions for use placed into cardboard pack.
Contraindications
Increased sensitivity to the drug; purulent, virus, tuberculosis, fungal diseases of the eye; glaucoma; trachoma; vaccination period; violating the integrity of the eye shells; age 18 years.

Indications
Allergic eye diseases (dermatitis eyelids, blepharitis, conjunctivitis and keratoconjunctivitis); inflammatory eye anterior eye disease in the absence of the corneal epithelium disorders integrity (blepharitis, conjunctivitis and keratoconjunctivitis); thermal and chemical burns (after complete epithelialization of corneal defects).
Interaction with other drugs
With prolonged use of the drug in a possible resorption of the drug in the bloodstream, hydrocortisone reduces the effectiveness of insulin, oral hypoglycemic drugs, antihypertensives, anticoagulants, reduces the concentration of salicylate in the blood, reduces the concentration of praziquantel in serum. Increase the risk of side effects of hydrocortisone: androgens, estrogens, oral contraceptives, anabolic steroids (hirsutism, acne); antipsychotics, carbutamide, azathioprine (cataract); holinoblokatory, antihistamine drugs, tricyclic antidepressants, nitrates (glaucoma); diuretics (hypokalemia). When used with cardiac glycosides may develop digitalis intoxication. Concomitant use of drugs with lead and silver results in mutual inactivation.
Overdose
Overdose observed rarely. Symptoms of overdose may cause local dose-related side effects. To remove the drug overdose phenomena are alone.

Hydrocortisone – a natural glucocorticosteroid. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic effect. Reduces inflammatory cell infiltrates, reduces migration of leukocytes and lymphocytes in areas of inflammation. Stabilizes the cellular and subcellular, including lysosomal membranes and the membranes of fat cells. Reduces the binding of immunoglobulins with receptors on cell surfaces and inhibits the synthesis or release of cytokines (interleukins and interferon) from lymphocytes and macrophages. Reduces the release of arachidonic acid from phospholipids, and synthesis of its metabolites (prostaglandins, leukotrienes, thromboxane). Decreases exudative reaction reduces capillary permeability. Reduces the severity of the early immunological response. It has a catabolic action, and inhibits the development of connective tissue and scarring.
Pharmacokinetics:
Hydrocortisone does not penetrate through the cornea during intraocular fluid. Hydrocortisone penetrates the epidermis and mucosal epithelium may be slightly absorbed into the systemic circulation and to provide a systemic effect. Hydrocortisone is metabolized directly to the epidermis and mucosal epithelium, hereinafter slight amount thereof falls after absorption into the bloodstream and biotransformed in the liver.
