Indications
Oral rehydration therapy and prevention of dehydration in the dehydration of mild to moderate due to acute diarrhea in order to compensate losses of water and electrolytes.
Interaction with other drugs
It has not been studied. The solution is weakly alkaline reaction product may however affect the drugs absorption of which depends on the pH of the intestinal contents. Diarrhea can itself alter the absorption of many drugs which are absorbed in the small or large intestine, or preparations in the metabolism which occurs enterohepatic recirculation.
Overdose
With the introduction of a large volume or high-concentration solution
Trigidrosola® (in violation of the rules of preparation of the solution) may hypernatremia.
Symptoms of hypernatremia: weakness, neuromuscular stimulation, drowsiness, confusion, coma, and sometimes even stop breathing. In patients with reduced renal function may be metabolic alkalosis, which may manifest depression of ventilation, neuromuscular excitation and tetanic convulsions.
If Trigidrosol® used in patients with impaired excretion of potassium salts organism may develop hyperkalemia (potassium content increased in the blood), which can manifest as disturbances sensitivity and paralysis of limbs, skin pruritus, confusion, fall in blood pressure, heart attacks and even in cardiac arrest, which may occur suddenly, among the total well-being.
In case of overdose symptoms should consult a doctor.
Correction fluid and electrolyte balance should be carried out on the basis of laboratory studies.
pharmachologic effect
Pharmacological group:
Rehydration agent for oral administration.
Pharmacodynamics:
Rehydrated means. Prevents or reduces dehydration compensation by sodium and potassium salts, regenerates the water-electrolyte balance in diarrhea. Dextrose promotes absorption of electrolytes that promotes correction of metabolic acidosis.
Pharmacokinetics:
The drug is retained in the bloodstream for a short time and very quickly goes into interstitial sector and into the cells. After a 1 hour half bloodstream is extracted solution. Very quickly excreted by the kidneys, increasing urine output. In renal insufficiency excretion which is part of potassium drug may slow down.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
The recommended dose preparation may be used during pregnancy and lactation.
Conditions of supply of pharmacies
Without a prescription.
side effects
The risk of hypernatremia and fluid overload in patients with normal renal function is low. With the rapid taking the drug may cause vomiting.
special instructions
Pediatric use other solutions with lower sodium concentration and osmolarity. Severe dehydration (weight loss> 10%, anuria) should be stopped using drugs for intravenous rehydration, and then can be used Trigidrosol®.
The recommended dose should not be exceeded if the patient’s need for additional introduction of electrolyte has not been confirmed by laboratory tests.
The sugar solution can not be added. Food can be given immediately after rehydration. Vomiting should wait 10 minutes after completion of emetic episodes and give a drink solution slowly, in small sips.
Patients who developed dehydration in patients with renal insufficiency, diabetes or other chronic diseases associated with impaired acid-base, electrolyte balance or carbohydrate metabolism, require careful monitoring during therapy with Trigidrosol®.
The patient should consult a doctor if during the use of the drug Trigidrosol® he raises the following situations:
It appears slow speech, rapid fatigue, drowsiness, stupor; Body temperature rises above 39 0C; terminated urine; appears hematochezia liquid; diarrhea lasts for more than 2 days; diarrhea suddenly stops, there are severe abdominal pain; If home treatment fails or is not possible.
Trigidrosol® does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and other classes of potentially hazardous activities that require high concentration and psychomotor speed reactions.
Storage conditions
In a dry, dark place at a temperature not higher than 25 ° C.
Dosing and Administration
Inside. Before use, the contents of the package are dissolved in 0.5 liters of freshly boiled water at room temperature. The prepared solution should be stored in a cool place in the refrigerator (at 2 – 8 0 C) and used within 24 hours. The solution can not be added any other components in order not to disturb the action of the drug.
Before treatment, the patient must be weighed to assess weight loss and the degree of dehydration.
It is recommended to avoid taking food rich in fats and simple carbohydrates during drug treatment. To prevent dehydration Trigidrosola® application should be initiated as soon as the diarrhea. Typically, the drug must be taken no more than 3-4 days, treatment is stopped with the end of diarrhea.
If the patient develops vomiting or nausea, then it is desirable to produce solution chilled in small portions.
Rehydration. For rehydration Trigidrosol® taken during the first 6 to 10 hours in an amount which is twice the loss of body weight induced diarrhea. For example, if weight loss is 400 grams, the amount Trigidrosola® solution is 800 ml. During this phase, the use of other fluids is not required.
Subsequent therapy. If the diarrhea continued, after correction of dehydration desirably administered Trigidrosol® or water for 24 hours as follows: 40 – 49 kg – Trigidrosol® 900 ml – 540 ml Water 50 – 59 kg – Trigidrosol® 1000 ml – 600 ml Water 60 – 69 kg – Trigidrosol® 1100 ml – 660 ml water 70 – 79 kg – Trigidrosol® 1200 ml – 720 ml water 80 – 89 kg – 1400 Trigidrosol® ml – 800 ml water 90 – 99 kg – 1500 Trigidrosol® ml – water 900 ml 100 kg or more – Trigidrosol® 1700 ml – 1000 ml of water.
