Contraindications

Infectious and inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms susceptible to azithromycin: • Upper respiratory tract infection and upper respiratory organs (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis, otitis media); • lower respiratory tract infections (acute bronchitis, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia, including those caused by atypical pathogens); • skin and soft tissue infections (common acne of moderate severity, erysipelas, impetigo, secondarily infected dermatoses); • The initial stage of Lyme disease (borreliosis) -migriruyuschaya erythema (erythema migrans); • Uncomplicated urinary tract infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis (urethritis, cervicitis).

Pharmacological properties:
Azithromycin – bacteriostatic antibiotic with broad-spectrum macrolide-azalides. Reversibly binding to the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes of cells gives translocation of the growing polypeptide chain of aminoacyl a peptidyl portion which leads to a suppression of protein synthesis in bacterial cells, slowing growth and reproduction of bacteria. In high concentrations it has a bactericidal effect. It has activity against a number of Gram-positive, Gram-negative, anaerobic, intracellular and other organisms. Microorganisms can initially be resistant to the antibiotic, or may acquire resistance to it. Sensitive: Aerobic Gram-positive microorganisms – Staphylococcus aureus (metitsillinchuvstvitelnye), Streptococcus pneumoniae (penitsillinchuvstvitelnye), Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus group A, B, C, G; aerobic Gram-negative organisms – Haemophilus influenzae, Haemophilus parainfluenzae, Legionella pneumophila, Moraxella catarrhalis, Pasteurella multocida, Neisseria gonorrhoeae; anaerobic microorganisms – Clostridium perfringens, Fusobacterium spp, Prevotella spp, Porphyromonas spp .;.. Streptococcus pneumoniae, beta-hemolytic Streptococcus spp. group A, Enterococcus faecalis and Staphylococcus aureus (including methicillin-resistant strains), resistant to erythromycin and other macrolides, lincosamides and resistant to azithromycin.

Dosing and Administration

When acne: course dose is 6 g: 500 mg 1 time per day for 3 days, then 500 mg 1 time per week for 9 weeks. Children from 6 months to 12 years. For infections of the respiratory tract, upper respiratory tract, skin and soft tissue: the rate of 10 mg / 1 kg body weight once a day for 3 days (a course dose 30 mg / kg). When streptococcal pharyngitis: the rate of 10-20 mg / kg 1 time a day for 3 days.
