Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug.
Severe dehydration.
Coma (unconsciousness).
Ileus.
Severe vomiting.
Diarrhea caused by cholera.
Glucose-galactose malabsorption.
Indications
Oral rehydration (fluid replenishment in the body), and dewatering prevention of acute diarrhea, dehydration involving mild to moderate. Medicament replenishes water supplies and salts.
Interaction with other drugs
It has not been studied. The solution is weakly alkaline reaction product may however affect the drugs absorption of which depends on the pH of the intestinal contents. Diarrhea can itself alter the absorption of many drugs which are absorbed in the small or large intestine, or preparations in the metabolism which occurs enterohepatic circulation.
Overdose
With the introduction of a large volume or high-concentration solution Regidron® (in violation of the rules of preparation of the solution) can be hypernatremia (increased sodium content in the blood). Symptoms of hypernatremia include weakness, neuromuscular stimulation, drowsiness, confusion, coma, and sometimes even stop breathing. In patients with impaired renal function may occur hyperkalemia (elevated levels of potassium in the blood), which manifests itself in violation of the heart rate, and weakness. If you experience symptoms of an overdose, seek medical attention. Correction fluid and electrolyte balance should be carried out on the basis of laboratory studies.
pharmachologic effect
Pharmacological group:
Rehydration agent for oral administration.
Pharmacodynamics:
Medicament Regidron® used to correct the loss of fluid and electrolytes in diarrhea. Dextrose promotes absorption of electrolytes that promotes correction of metabolic acidosis. The osmolarity of the solution is 282 mOsm / L, pH -8.2.
Pharmacokinetics:
The pharmacokinetic properties of water, electrolytes and dextrose, a part of the drug are similar to those contained in the human body.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
In Regidron® recommended doses can be used during pregnancy and lactation.
Conditions of supply of pharmacies
Without recipe.
side effects
In patients with normal renal function, the risk of hypernatremia (increasing sodium content in the blood) or an excess of water flow is low. It too quickly may cause vomiting reception.
special instructions
In children should apply other solutions with lower sodium content and the osmolarity. Given the composition of the drug, should use caution in patients with diabetes mellitus, impaired liver or renal function, as well as in patients with a diet low in salt (sodium and (or) potassium). In patients with diabetes, renal failure and some other chronic diseases diarrhea can cause a material breach of the maintenance of fluid balance and glucose. In this regard, the treatment of diarrhea in these patients may require laboratory monitoring and hospitalization. If the patient’s need for additional administration of electrolytes is not confirmed by laboratory tests, the recommended dose should not be exceeded. Severe dehydration (weight loss> 10%, termination urine discharge) should be treated with drugs for intravenous rehydration, and then allowed to adopt Regidron® solution.
If necessary, intravenous preparations or in severe dehydration, or severe vomiting, with a decrease or cessation of urine Regidron® used with caution. Vomiting wait 10 minutes after completion of the attack emesis and give a drink solution slowly, in small sips. The patient should consult a doctor if during the use of the drug Regidron® he raises the following situation: there is a slow speech, irritability, rapid fatigue, drowsiness, stupor; the temperature rises above 39 ° C; bloody stools; persistent vomiting; diarrhea lasts for more than 2 days; severe abdominal pain. Applications Regidron® solution in order to compensate for losses during diarrhea salts, developing in cholera and some other heavy intestinal infections, may not be sufficient. Persons with kidney failure or who are on a diet low in potassium should be borne in mind that in a preparation containing potassium.
Effects on ability to drive and operate machinery
Does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and other classes. Potentially hazardous activities that require high concentration and psychomotor speed reactions.
Storage conditions
At a temperature of 15 to 25 ° C.
After dilution the solution was stored in a refrigerator for 24 hours.
Keep out of the reach of children!.
Dosing and Administration
The contents of one sachet dissolved in 1 liter of freshly boiled cooled drinking water. The resulting colorless solution was taken orally (p.o.). If necessary, the solution is allowed to enter through a nasogastric tube (in a hospital). The prepared solution should be stored in refrigerator (at a temperature of from +2 to +8 ° C), it should be consumed within 24 hours. In order not to disturb the action of the drug, should not add any other component in the solution. Before treatment, the patient must be weighed to assess weight loss and the degree of dehydration. Meals patient or breastfeeding while should not be interrupted carried oral rehydration therapy, or whether they should be continued immediately after rehydration. During treatment it is recommended to avoid taking food rich in fats and simple carbohydrates (this may exacerbate diarrhea). To prevent dehydration Regidron® use of the drug should be started as soon as the diarrhea. the drug is usually required to use no more than 3-4 days, treatment is stopped with the end of diarrhea. If nausea or vomiting occurred, it is desirable to take the solution chilled in small portions (e.g., teaspoons).
fluid replenishment
To fill fluid Regidron® taken during the first 6-10 hours in an amount which is twice the loss of body weight induced diarrhea. For example, if weight loss is 400 grams, the amount Regidron® solution is 800 ml. During this phase, the use of other fluids is not required. Eating in the first 4 hours of hydration is not recommended. When you receive large amounts may cause vomiting
Prevention of dehydration
If the diarrhea continued, after correction of dehydration it is desirable to take Regidron® and water for 24 hours according to the following scheme: 40-49 kg body weight: The total amount of liquid required, 2.10 L, including the volume of the drug-rehydron 900 ml volume water-540 ml volume of another liquid-660 ml. body weight 50-59 kg: total required fluid-2,30 liters, including drug-rehydron volume 1000 ml, the volume of water-600 ml volume of another fluid 700 mL of 60-69 kg body weight: total required 2.50 l fluid, including the volume of the drug-rehydron 1100 ml, the volume of water, 660 ml, the volume of the other fluid 740 mL of 70-79 kg body weight: The total amount of liquid required, 2.70 l, including is the volume of the drug-rehydron 1200 ml, the volume of water, 720 ml, the volume of another liquid-780 mL 80-89 kg body weight: The total amount of liquid required, 3.20 l, including the volume of the drug-rehydron 1400 ml, the volume of s 800-ml volume of another liquid-1000 ml 90-99 kg body weight: The total amount of liquid required, 3.60 L, including the volume of the drug-rehydron 1500 ml, the volume of water, 900 ml, the volume of other fluid-1200 mL body weight of 100 or more kg: total required fluid-4,00 liters, including drug-rehydron-volume 1700 ml, the volume of water, 1000 ml, the volume of other fluid-1300 ml.
