Active substance:
1 tablet contains: norfloxacin 400.0 mg.
Product form:
Tablets, film-coated 400 mg. 10, 20 tablets in blisters of PVC film and aluminum foil printed patent. At 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 or 100 tablets banks polymer of polypropylene or polyethylene terephthalate banks. One jar or 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10 contour cell packages together with instructions for use placed in a cardboard box (pack).
Contraindications
• Hypersensitivity to norfloxacin, components of the drug and other quinolones; • Deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase; • tendinitis, tendon rupture caused by the administration of fluoroquinolones (including history); • Hereditary lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption; • children and adolescents (under 18 years); • Pregnancy and lactation.

Indications
Infectious and inflammatory diseases are caused by microorganisms susceptible to norfloxacin: urinary tract infection (except for acute and chronic complicated pyelonephritis), chronic bacterial prostatitis, uncomplicated gonorrhea, salmonellosis, shigellosis. Prevention of traveler’s diarrhea, sepsis prevention in patients with neutropenia.

Pharmacological properties:
The antimicrobial agent of the fluoroquinolones. It has a bactericidal effect. It affects the bacterial enzyme DNA gyrase, which provides supercoiling and thus the stability of the DNA of bacteria. Destabilization of the DNA chain leads to death of the bacteria. It has a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity and is active against most strains of microorganisms in conditions in vitro, and in vivo. Sensitive in vivo: Gram-positive aerobes – Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aprophyticus, Streptococcus agalactiae; Gram-negative aerobes – Citrobacter freundii, Enterobacter aerogenes, Enterobacter cloacae, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Proteus mirabilis, Proteus vulgaris, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Serratia marcescens, Salmonella spp, Shigella spp..

Dosing and Administration
Inside fasting (at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal) and washed down with sufficient amount of liquid. In the absence of specific instructions physician recommends the following doses: a tablet (400 mg), 2 times per day. The treatment duration of 7 to 14 days, longer treatment is carried out if necessary. For infections of the urinary tract – 400 mg 2 times a day for 7-10 days; with uncomplicated cystitis – 3-7 days; chronic recurrent urinary tract infections – up to 12 weeks; acute bacterial gastroenteritis (shigellosis, salmonellosis) – 5 days; in acute gonococcal urethritis, pharyngitis, proctitis, cervicitis – 800 mg single dose. For the prevention of infection (in neutropenic patients) – 400 mg 2 times a day; for the prevention of bacterial gastroenteritis – 400 mg / day. For the prevention of traveler’s diarrhea – 400 mg / day for 1 day prior to departure and during the entire period of the way (not more than 21 days). For the prevention of recurrence of urinary tract infections – 200 mg / day. In bacterial prostatitis (acute and chronic) – 400 mg 2 times a day, 28 days. Patients with impaired renal function in creatinine clearance (CC) of more than 30 ml / min correction dosing regime is not required. When QA below 30 ml / min and patients on hemodialysis, 1/2 therapeutic dose administered 2 times a day, or one full dose once a day.
