Glucocorticosteroids for local use.
Pharmacological properties:
Mometasone – synthetic glucocorticosteroid (GCS) having anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and antiexudative action. GCS induce isolation of proteins that inhibit phospholipase A2 and collectively known lipocortin which control the biosynthesis of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes by inhibiting the release of their common precursor arachidonic acid.
Pharmacokinetics:
Absorption cream Momat insignificant. After 8 hours after the single application on intact skin (without occlusive dressings) detected in the systemic circulation of about 0.4% of active compound. Mometasone extensively metabolized in the liver, kidneys displayed mainly in the small amount in the bile.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Safety of application of mometasone furoate during pregnancy and lactation has not been studied.
GCS cross the placental barrier. Avoid long-term treatment and the use of large doses during pregnancy due to the risk of negative impact on fetal development.
Corticosteroids are excreted in breast milk. In the case where it is assumed the use of corticosteroids at high doses and / or for a long time, discontinue breastfeeding.

When applying the external forms of corticosteroids for a long time and / or for the treatment of large areas of skin, or by using occlusive dressings, especially in children and teenagers, can have side effects characteristic of systemic corticosteroids, including adrenal insufficiency and Cushing’s syndrome.
special instructions
When applied to large areas of the skin for a long time, especially when using occlusive dressings may develop systemic corticosteroids. In view of this, patients should be observed for signs of suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system and the development of Cushing’s syndrome.
Avoid getting the cream Momat eyes.
Propylene glycol, a part of the drug may cause irritation at the site of application. In such cases, discontinue use Momat cream and appropriate treatment.
Note that corticosteroids can change the manifestation of some skin diseases that can complicate diagnosis. In addition, use of corticosteroids may cause delays wound healing.
When long-term therapy of GCS sudden cessation of treatment can lead to rebound syndrome, which manifests itself in the form of dermatitis with intense redness and burning sensation. Therefore, after the long course of treatment abolition of the drug must be carried out gradually, e.g., switching to intermittent treatment regimen before it is completely stopped.
Pediatric use
Due to the fact that in children the value of the ratio of surface area and body weight greater than that of adults, children are at greater risk of suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system and the development of Cushing’s syndrome in the application of any topical corticosteroids. Long-term corticosteroids treatment of children can lead to violations of their growth and development.
Children should receive the minimum dose sufficient to achieve the effect.
Storage conditions
In a dry, dark place at a temperature not higher than 25 ° C.
