Symptoms of overdose: drop in blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, slowing of reflexes, anuria, respiratory depression, coma, cardiac arrest.
Treatment: Rehydration, forced diuresis. In renal failure requires dialysis or peritoneal dialysis.
pharmachologic effect
Pharmacological group:
Magnesium preparation.
Pharmacological properties:
Fills magnesium deficiency.
Magnesium is an essential element that is found in all tissues of the body and is essential for normal functioning of cells. It is involved in the majority of nerve impulses metabolism, transmission and regulation of reactions in muscle contraction, has spasmolytic, antiarrhythmic and antiplatelet effect.
The body gets magnesium from food. Lack of magnesium in the body can be observed at tackle diet (diet) or with increasing demand for magnesium (with increased physical and mental stress, stress, pregnancy, use of diuretics).
Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) is involved in many metabolic processes, in the regulation of metabolism of the nervous system. Vitamin B6 magnesium improves absorption from the gastrointestinal tract and its penetration into cells.
The magnesium content in serum: – from 12 to 17 mg / L (0.5-0.7 mmol / L) of said moderate magnesium deficiency. – below 12 mg / l (0.5 mmol / l) said heavy magnesium deficiency.
Pharmacodynamics:
magnesium absorption in the gastrointestinal tract is 50% of the dose received inside. Excreted mainly via the kidneys. In the kidney after glomerular filtration 70% of the magnesium present in the plasma, it is reabsorbed by the renal tubules in a proportion of 95% – 97%.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Pregnancy: Clinical experience has not revealed foetotoxic or causes fetal malformations action. Magnelis® B6 can be used during pregnancy only on the testimony of a doctor.
Lactation: Magnesium passes into breast milk. Should be avoided during lactation and breastfeeding.
