Contraindications
Increased sensitivity to the drug. Renal failure (creatinine clearance less than 30 mL / minute). Phenylketonuria. Children under 6 years (for the drug in tablet form) and up to 1 year (for a solution). Fructose intolerance, malabsorption syndrome glyukozogalaktoznoy deficit saharazyizomaltazy (for preparation in tablet form due to the presence in the composition of sucrose). Simultaneous administration of levodopa (see. See “The interaction with other drugs”)
Carefully
At moderate renal insufficiency, because of the risk of gipermagniemii.
Dosage
100 mg + 10 mg / ampoule
Indications
Mounted magnesium deficiency, isolated or associated with other deficient states accompanied by symptoms such as irritability, minor sleep disorders; gastrointestinal cramps or heart palpitations; fatigue, pain and muscle spasms, tingling sensation.
Interaction with other drugs
contraindicated combinations
Since levodopa: levodopa pyridoxine activity is inhibited (when the drug is not compatible with aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase inhibitors peripheral reception). Avoid taking any number of pyridoxine when levodopa is not taken in combination with peripheral decarboxylase inhibitors aromatic L-amino acid
Not recommended combinations
Simultaneous application of preparations containing phosphate or calcium salts, magnesium may deteriorate the absorption in the intestine.
Combinations to be taken into account
When assigning inwardly tetracyclines observe interval of at least three hours between ingestion and tetracycline Magne B6 since magnesium drugs reduce the absorption of tetracyclines.
Overdose
Symptoms: normal renal function when magnesium overdose ingestion usually does not cause toxic reactions. However, in the case of renal insufficiency may develop magnesium poisoning. Overdose symptoms, the severity of which depends on the magnesium concentration in the blood: Blood pressure reduction; nausea, vomiting; central nervous system depression, decreased reflexes; changes in the electrocardiogram; respiratory depression, coma, cardiac arrest and respiratory paralysis; anurichesky syndrome.
Treatment: Rehydration, forced diuresis. In renal failure requires dialysis or peritoneal dialysis.
pharmachologic effect
Pharmacological group:
Magnesium preparation.
Pharmacodynamics:
Magnesium is an essential element, which is present in all body tissues, and is essential for normal functioning of cells involved in most metabolic reactions. In particular, it is involved in the regulation of the transmission of nerve impulses and muscle contraction. The body gets magnesium from food. Lack of magnesium in the body can be observed at tackle diet (diet) or with increasing demand for magnesium (with increased physical and mental stress, stress, pregnancy, use of diuretics). Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) is involved in many metabolic processes, in the regulation of metabolism of the nervous system. Vitamin B6 magnesium improves absorption from the gastrointestinal tract and its penetration into cells. The magnesium content in serum: – from 12 to 17 mg / l (0.5 – 0.7 mmol / l) said failure of the moderate magnesium; – below 12 mg / l (0.5 mmol / l) said heavy magnesium deficiency.
Pharmacokinetics:
magnesium absorption in the gastrointestinal tract is less than 50% of the dose received inside. 99% of magnesium in the body is found inside the cells. Approximately 2/3 of the intracellular magnesium is distributed in the bone tissue, and the other third is in smooth and striated muscle tissues transversely. Magnesium is preferably derived from urine. The urine output, at least 1/3 of the magnesium received dose.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Pregnancy: clinical experience with the drug in a sufficient number of pregnant women did not reveal any adverse effect on the occurrence of fetal malformation or foetotoxic actions. Magne V6® drug can be used during pregnancy only if necessary, on doctor’s advice.
Lactation: the magnesium passes into breast milk. Should be avoided during lactation and breastfeeding.
Conditions of supply of pharmacies
Available without prescription.
side effects
Violations by the immune system
Very rarely (
Disorders of the gastrointestinal tract
Unknown frequency (available data to estimate the frequency of occurrence is not possible): diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, flatulence.
special instructions
Information for diabetics: film-coated tablets contain sucrose as excipient. In case of severe magnesium deficiency or malabsorption syndrome, treatment is initiated with intravenous magnesium preparations. In the case of concomitant calcium deficiency, magnesium deficiency is recommended to eliminate prior to administration of the calcium preparations or food additives containing calcium. With frequent use of laxatives, alcohol, intense physical and mental stress need for magnesium increases, which can lead to magnesium deficiency in the body. Ampoules contain sulfite, which can cause or exacerbate symptoms of allergic-type reactions including anaphylactic reactions, especially in patients at risk. In the application of pyridoxine in high doses (200 mg daily) for a long time (over several months or in some cases – s) can develop sensory axonal neuropathy that is accompanied by symptoms such as numbness, disturbances of proprioceptive sensitivity, tremor distal limbs and gradually developing sensory ataxia (incoordination). These disorders are usually reversible and disappear after discontinuation of vitamin B6. The drug is in the form of tablets is only for adults and children over 6 years. For younger children (aged 1 year) recommended the drug in the form of oral solution
Effects on ability to drive and engage in other potentially hazardous activities: no effect, no specific recommendations.
