pharmachologic effect
Pharmacological group:
Glucocorticosteroids for local use.
Pharmacodynamics:
The preparation contains as active substance hydrocortisone acetate glucocorticosteroid. The local application of hydrocortisone acetate suppresses inflammatory and allergic reactions, occurring in the outer membrane and the anterior segment of the eye. Action hydrocortisone acetate, like other corticosteroids, is based on the inhibition of leukocyte functions and tissue macrophages. It limits the migration of leucocytes, macrophages and mast cells to inflammation and suppresses the formation of interleukin-1. It contributes to the stabilization of lysosomal membranes, thereby reducing the concentration of proteolytic enzymes in inflammation. It reduces capillary permeability caused by histamine release. Suppresses the activity of fibroblasts and collagen formation. Inhibits phospholipase A2 activity, which leads to suppression of the synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes.
Pharmacokinetics:
Possibly the penetration of hydrocortisone acetate in moisture through the cornea anterior chamber due to the lipophilic properties. The penetration of hydrocortisone acetate in tissue depends on the state of the cornea and increases significantly in the case of inflammation or damage to the eye mucosa.
