Composition
Active substance:
1 tablet contains 30 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride.
Excipients:
84 mg of lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose 30 mg, sodium carboxymethylstarch (type A) 10 mg, povidone (K-30) 5 mg Magnesium stearate 1 mg.
Description:
White or almost white flat round bevelled tablet with a mark on one side and engraving E 231 – on the other side, no or almost odorless.
Product form:
Tablets 30 mg. 10 tablets in a blister made of PVC / Al. foil or PVC / PVDC / Al. foil; 2 blister together with instructions for use packed in a cardboard box.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to ambroxol or Bromhexine.
Ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract.
Pregnancy (I term).
Galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption (lactose monohydrate formulation).
This dosage form is not intended for use in children under 5 years of age (see. Section “Dosage and administration”).
Precautions: severe renal insufficiency.

Indications
Acute and chronic respiratory diseases, accompanied by the formation of viscous mucus: bronchitis, bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonia, bronchiectasis.
Inflammatory diseases of upper respiratory tract (sinusitis, otitis) at which the necessary liquefaction of mucus.
Interaction with other drugs
Antitussive drugs (including codeine) may impede sputum, ambroxol thinned.
Haliksol promotes penetration into bronchial secretions of certain antibiotics (amoxycillin, cefuroxime, erythromycin, doxycycline, etc.).
Overdose
Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dyspepsia.
Treatment: Induce vomiting, and then assign a drink (milk or tea) intake of fat-containing products. Gastric lavage recommended for 1-2 hours after ingestion. It is necessary to constantly monitor the function of the cardiovascular system.

Pharmacodynamics:
Ambroxol – active bromhexine metabolite, belongs to the group of the benzylamine mucolytic agents.
Liquefies mucus production by increasing and enhancing the activity of hydrolytic enzymes that break the connection between sputum mucopolysaccharides.
It improves the rheological properties of sputum, reducing its viscosity and adhesive properties, due to the stimulation of the serous gland cells of the bronchial mucosa and normalization of the ratio of serous and mucous sputum components. Increases mucociliary transport, increasing the motor activity of ciliated epithelium. Does not cause excessive secretion of education, reduces spastic bronchial hyperreactivity. It contributes to the development of surfactant.
The effect is 30 minutes after ingestion.
Pharmacokinetics:
Almost completely absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. Approximately 80% bound to plasma proteins. Treated active metabolism “first pass” hepatic. Bioavailability after oral administration is about 60%. Time to maximum concentration – 2 hr.
Approximately 90% of the dose excreted in the urine in the form of a glucuronide conjugate of ambroxol or oxidized products of its metabolism. The half-life of about 7 hours increases with severe renal failure, is not changed with abnormal liver function.
It crosses the placental barrier. Its concentration in the body of the fetus is 2-4 times higher than in the mother. It is found in breast milk, and cerebrospinal fluid.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
The drug is contraindicated to receive in the I trimester of pregnancy; the drug is released in breast milk, so while taking the drug during lactation should decide the issue of termination of breastfeeding.

side effects
Haliksol usually well tolerated. May experience the following side effects: fatigue, headache, diarrhea, constipation, dry mouth and airways, rhinorrhea, dysuria, gastralgia, nausea, vomiting, rash, urticaria.
It reported severe acute anaphylactic reactions, but their causal relationship to ambroxol reception is not set.
special instructions
Should not be administered concurrently with antitussive drugs – difficulty sputum.
Use of the drug in patients with impaired motor function of bronchi or copious sputum low viscosity requires caution because of the danger of stagnation of bronchial secretions.
Storage conditions
Store at a temperature not higher than 30 C, protected from light. Keep out of the reach of children.
Dosing and Administration
The tablets should be taken orally after a meal and drink plenty of fluids. Abundant fluid intake promotes liquefaction of mucus in the treatment of ambroxol. Adults and children over 12 years: The usual daily dose for the first 2-3 days of treatment: 1 tablet 3 times a day, and in the following days – 1 tablet 2 times a day or 1/2 tablet 3 times a day. In severe cases, the dose is not reduced during the course of treatment.
Children under 5 years old are encouraged to take HALIKSOL syrup.
Children aged 5-12 years: 1/2 tablet 2-3 times a day.
In severe renal insufficiency should be given reduced doses or increase the intervals between doses of the drug.
When receiving Haliksola more than 4-5 days it is recommended to consult a doctor.
