Indications
Dyspeptic symptoms, such as discomfort or epigastric pain, heartburn, acid regurgitation after errors in the diet, excessive consumption of ethanol, coffee, nicotine etc .; dyspeptic symptoms, such as discomfort or epigastric pain, heartburn, acid regurgitation (and prevention), resulting from use of certain drugs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, steroids, etc..); State, accompanied by an increased acid production: peptic ulcer, gastritis, reflux esophagitis; hiatal hernia.
Interaction with other drugs
Preparation Gastal® while the use of levodopa and enhances the activity of nalidixic acid and reduces delays absorption quinolones, isoniazid, naproxen, iron preparations, indomethacin, chlorpromazine, beta-blockers, diflunisal, blockers of histamine H2-receptors of fat-soluble vitamins, anticoagulants, barbiturates. In the interaction with metal ions comprising the antacid, tetracyclines form insoluble chelate complexes; as a result of the interaction of the tetracycline absorption decreases by more than 90%. Simultaneous treatment with these drugs is not possible. If necessary, the simultaneous application of tetracycline should take no less than 2 hours before receiving an antacid.
In the presence of hydroxides of aluminum and magnesium contained in antacids, ciprofloxacin and ofloxacin absorption decreases by 50-90% .In the presence of antacids bioavailability captopril significantly reduced, and the simultaneous use of antacids and metoprolol metoprolol reduces the concentration in the blood plasma.
The simultaneous use of high doses of antacids can reduce the absorption of ranitidine to 10-33%. The use of antacids do not affect the bioavailability of amoxicillin, cephalexin and amoxicillin and clavulanic acid, however, can substantially reduce the absorption of doxycycline from the gastrointestinal tract. Increasing urine pH during therapy with antacids can increase tubular reabsorption of basic (alkaline) of the drugs and reduce reabsorption of acidic compounds. Antacids can slow down absorption and reduce salicylates including acetylsalicylic acid, and also by increasing the pH of urine, facilitate more rapid excretion from the body with salicylates in urine, with a concomitant decrease in their serum concentrations at 30-70%. Suction cardiac glycosides, including digoxin and digitoxin, while the use of antacids is not significantly reduced. M-holinoblokatory slowing gastric motility, increase duration of drug action Gastal®.S to prevent possible Gastal® drug interactions with other drugs it is recommended intake for 1 hour before or 1 hour after their application.
Overdose
Symptoms of acute overdose have not been described. Prolonged use of high-dose preparations containing aluminum and magnesium, may develop hypophosphatemia, hypocalcemia, hypercalciuria, osteomalacia, osteoporosis, gipermagnie-mission, giperalyuminiemiya, encephalopathy, nephrocalcinosis and renal dysfunction. Perhaps the development of more severe adverse reactions from the gastrointestinal (GI) tract (constipation, diarrhea), in patients with renal failure – thirst, lower blood pressure, hyporeflexia.
Treatment: symptomatic therapy.
pharmachologic effect
Pharmacological group:
Antacid.
Pharmacodynamics:
Preparation Gastal® – combined antacid agent which reduces the acidity of gastric juice and no stimulating effect on the secretion of gastric juice. Aluminum hydroxide-magnesium carbonate gel and magnesium hydroxide provide immediate (immediately after administration) and long (about 2 hours), neutralizing the hydrochloric acid of the gastric juice, with maintaining the acidity in the stomach at the physiological level (pH 3-5). One tablet formulation neutralizes Gastal® 21.5 mmol hydrochloric acid. Gastal® drug inhibits the action of pepsin, bile acids and lysolecithin, eliminates dyspeptic symptoms. Enhances the protective and regenerative processes in the gastric mucosa. aluminum ions exert cytoprotective effect by increasing mucin secretion and sodium hydrogencarbonate, activation of prostaglandin E2 and NO, the accumulation of epidermal growth factor in place mucosal damage, increased concentration of phospholipids in the walls of the stomach.
Pharmacokinetics:
Gastal® drug has no systemic effects in patients with normal renal function. After reaction with hydrochloric acid of the gastric juice aluminum hydroxide reacts with phosphates and carbonates in the alkaline medium of the intestine and excreted in the feces as insoluble salts. Magnesium hydroxide reacts with hydrochloric acid in the gastric juice to form a magnesium chloride solution having osmotic properties and a mild laxative effect that neutralizes pinning effect of aluminum hydroxide in the small intestine. Magnesium ions are excreted in the feces as an insoluble carbonate.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Gastal® drug is not excreted in breast milk. If use during pregnancy and lactation is necessary to weigh the benefits to the mother and the risk to the fetus and infant.
Conditions of supply of pharmacies
Without recipe.
side effects
In applying the drug Gastal® at recommended doses side effects are rare (less than 0.01% but less than 0.1%), nausea, constipation, diarrhea, changes in taste sensations. In exceptional cases, allergic reactions are possible.
special instructions
should not exceed the recommended dosage and duration of treatment when used in patients with impaired renal function.
Effect on ability to drive and use machines:
Use of the drug Gastal® does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and management of other mechanisms.
Storage conditions
Store at a temperature not higher than 25 C.
Keep out of the reach of children.
Dosing and Administration
Inside, gradually dissolving in the mouth.

The duration of the no more than 2 weeks. Similar doses are recommended to treat heartburn regardless of the meal. Adults and children over 12 years weighing less than 50 kg, children aged 6 to 12 letDoza is half of the recommended dose for adults and children over 12 years and weighing at least 50 kg. The duration of the no more than 2 weeks.
