Description:
Chewable Tablets (mint) from nearly white to cream color interspersed with small, round, flat with bevelled edges, with the image of the circle and at one side of the sword and the inscription “G 250” – on the other, with mint odor.

Contraindications
• hypersensitivity to any component of the drug;
• phenylketonuria;
• Children up to age 12 years.
Precautions: In the presence of the following diseases or conditions prior to use of the drug should consult a physician: hypercalcemia and nephrocalcinosis urolithiasis with the formation of calcium-oxalate stones, congestive heart failure, renal dysfunction.
Indications
Symptomatic treatment of dyspepsia associated with gastric hyperacidity and gastroesophageal reflux (heartburn, acid regurgitation), a feeling of heaviness in the stomach after ingestion, including during pregnancy.
Interaction with other drugs
Since the calcium carbonate, part of the drug exhibits antacid activity between drug intake Geviskon® and other drugs must be at least 2 hours, particularly while receiving H2-blockers of histamine receptors, antibiotics from the group of tetracycline, digoxin, fluoroquinolone, iron salts, ketoconazole, neuroleptics, levothyroxine sodium, thyroid hormones, penicillamine, beta-blockers (atenolol, metoprolol, propranolol), corticosteroids, chloroquine, bisphosphonates and e tramustinom. Overdose
Symptoms may experience bloating.

Pharmacodynamics:
When ingestion of the drug actives Geviskon® quickly react with acidic stomach contents. Thus formed alginate gel with a pH close to neutral. The gel forms a protective barrier on the surface of the gastric contents, preventing the occurrence of gastroesophageal reflux for a period of up to four hours. In severe cases of reflux (regurgitation), the gel enters the esophagus, the stomach contents ahead of the rest, where it reduces irritation of esophageal mucosa.
