Composition
Active substance:
Sodium alginate 250 mg, 106.5 mg of sodium hydrogen carbonate, calcium carbonate, 187.5 mg
Excipients:
598.799 mg mannitol, macrogol-20000 30 mg, copovidone 33.75 mg, 5.863 mg potassium acesulfame, aspartame 5.863 mg, azorubin dye (11012) 0.375 mg, 18.75 mg peppermint flavor, xylitol (DC) 100 mg Magnesium stearate 6 , 75-12,6 mg.
Description:
Round, flat, two-layer tablets with beveled edges and a mint odor. One layer has a pink color and small blotches of darker color, another layer of white. On one side of the tablet: the circle and the image of the sword, on the other side: GDA250.

Contraindications
– hypersensitivity to any component of the drug;
– phenylketonuria (see section “Special instructions.”);
– renal failure secondary to severe;
– Children up to age 12 years.
Carefully:
In the presence of the following diseases or conditions prior to use of the drug should consult a physician: hypercalcemia and nephrocalcinosis urolithiasis with the formation of calcium-oxalate stones (see “Special instructions.”); congestive heart failure (see section “Special instructions.”); renal insufficiency mild (see. section “Special instructions”).
Indications
Treating the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease, such as regurgitation, heartburn, dyspepsia (indigestion, feeling of heaviness in the stomach) arising postprandial in patients with acidity of gastric juice or in the period of pregnancy.
Interaction with other drugs
Since the calcium carbonate, part of the drug exhibits antacid activity between drug intake Geviskon® Dual Action and other drugs must be at least 2 hours, particularly while receiving H2-blockers of histamine receptors, antibiotics of the tetracycline group, digoxin, fluoroquinolone, iron salts, ketoconazole, neuroleptics, thyroid hormone, levothyroxine sodium, penicillamine, beta-blockers (atenolol, metoprolol, propranolol), corticosteroids, chloroquine, b sfosfonatami and estramustine.
Overdose
Symptoms may experience bloating.

Pharmacodynamics:
When ingestion of the active ingredients of the drug Geviskon® Dual Action quickly react with acidic stomach contents. Thus formed alginate gel with a pH close to neutral. The gel forms a protective barrier on the surface of the gastric contents, preventing the occurrence of gastroesophageal reflux (Scored reverse stomach contents into the esophagus). In severe cases of reflux (regurgitation), the gel is thrown into the esophagus, the stomach contents ahead of the rest, where it reduces irritation of esophageal mucosa.
Calcium carbonate neutralizes hydrochloric acid gastric juice, facilitating a sense of heartburn and indigestion. This effect is enhanced due to the presence in the composition of sodium hydrogen carbonate preparation which also has a neutralizing effect. Total acid-neutralizing activity of the drug in the lowest dose of 2 tablets of approximately 10 mEq.
Pharmacokinetics:
The drug has no systemic bioavailability (not drawn).

At a dose of two tablets a sodium content of 110.75 mg (4.82 mmol). This should be considered as necessary dieting with a limited content of salts, for example, in congestive heart failure and renal failure mild.
Each dose of two tablets containing 150 mg (3.75 mmol) of calcium. Therefore, caution should be exercised in treating patients with hypercalcemia and nephrocalcinosis urolithiasis to form calcium oxalate stones.
Due to the content of aspartame as part of this drug should not be used by patients with phenylketonuria.
The drug Geviskon® Dual Action contains a part of antacids, which can mask the symptoms of serious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
May decrease the effectiveness of the drug in patients with low acidity of gastric juice.
In patients with gastroenteritis or suspected of having renal failure there is an increased risk of hypernatremia when using the drug.
Do not use the drug for a long time, if after 7 days dosing symptoms persist, seek medical advice to revise the therapies.

The drug has no effect on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms, as well as other classes of potentially hazardous activities that require high concentration and psychomotor speed reactions.

Dosing and Administration
Adults and children over 12 years: inside, after careful chewing, 2-4 tablets after meals and at bedtime (up to 4 times a day).
The maximum daily dose of 16 tablets.
