Product form:
Dragees.
10 pills in the blister (1 blister 5 dragees with vitamins – red and 5 drops with minerals – blue). 4 in the blister cardboard pack together with instructions for use.
Contraindications
Increased sensitivity to the drug.
Indications
As a preventive measure for conditions involving an increase in the need for vitamins and minerals: – Increased physical activity, including during active sports; – during pregnancy and lactation; – the irregular, malnutrition or monotonous diet.
Interaction with other drugs
The preparation contains iron and calcium and therefore delays the intestinal absorption of the tetracycline group of antibiotics and antimicrobial agents – derivatives of fluoroquinolones. Vitamin C increases the effects and side-effects of antimicrobial agents from the group of sulphonamides (including the appearance of crystals in the urine). Antacids containing aluminum, magnesium, calcium, and holisteramin reduce the absorption of iron. Therefore the concomitant administration if necessary Duovita and antacids must withstand the interval between doses at least 3 hours. When concomitant administration of thiazide diuretics group increases the likelihood of hypercalcemia.
Do not take Duovit in conjunction with other products containing vitamins and minerals.
Overdose
Overdoses while taking the drug at the recommended doses noted. With a significant excess of recommended doses may be cases of hypervitaminosis A and D, headache, disorders of the gastrointestinal (vomiting, diarrhea).
