Description:
DETRIMAKS® Vitamin D3 provides vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) – the vital fat-soluble vitamin necessary for the operation of almost all organs and systems of the human body.
Vitamin D plays a key role in:
The skeletal system.
Participates in the regulation of calcium and phosphorus metabolism: helps calcium absorbed in the intestines, supports the necessary levels of calcium and phosphorus in the blood, activates bone metabolism. Promotes bone strength and teeth, reduce the risk of rickets, osteomalacia. (1.2)
Muscular system.
It helps to maintain muscle strength and neuromuscular conduction (3), thereby reducing the risk of falls and fractures.
IMMUNE SYSTEM.
It promotes healthy immune function activation, positively affecting both innate and acquired immunity (3). It triggers the synthesis of the body’s own antimicrobial peptides: katalitsidina and defensin. Thereby reducing the risk of colds (4). It has a regulating effect on the growth, development and regeneration of cells (5,3). Lack of vitamin D in the body leads to a weakening of the immune defense.
Regulation of energy potential of the cells.
Helps relieve fatigue and improve body tone, regulating its own energy potential of the cells. As a result, the influence of vitamin D in the mitochondria of cells increased production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which own universal energy source for all biochemical processes in the body (7).
NERVOUS SYSTEM.
Positive effect on the nervous system, including the psycho-emotional sphere and cognitive functions: mood, memory, attention, efficiency, overall body as involved in the production of neurotransmitters and biologically active substances by means of which the transmission of nerve impulses between nerve cells (3) . It is required for the conversion of tryptophan (amino acids entering into the body with food) to serotonin – neurotransmitter having great significance for normal cognitive and psycho-emotional state. It helps to improve mood (9). Vitamin D is capable of exerting positive action on pain sensitivity due to a positive influence on the synthesis of neurotransmitters: serotonin, dopamine (10).
Bronchopulmonary system.
It helps prevent airway smooth muscle changes, regulates contraction of airway muscles and inflammatory response that contributes to normal lung function (11).
Endocrine system.
Vitamin D affects the metabolism of glucose and insulin, and vitamin D deficiency is a risk factor for the development of insulin resistance, impaired glucose tolerance. Vitamin D can stimulate secretion from the beta cells of pancreatic insulin, and indirectly activates the calcium-dependent endopeptidase beta cells that converts proinsulin to insulin is active. Vitamin D can affect tissue sensitivity to insulin, either directly, by stimulating expression of insulin receptors in cells (14). Vitamin D positive effect on lipid metabolism, contributing to a reduction of low density (15) in the blood levels of total cholesterol, triglycerides, and lipids.
Reproductive function.
It stimulates the synthesis of male and female sex hormones: estrogen, progesterone, testosterone. It has a positive effect on the reproductive function in both women and men (12,13). Couples who are planning a pregnancy or have difficulty in conceiving a child. In women with adequate levels of vitamin D3 fertilization occurs more often. Lack of vitamin D3 deficiency can improve the results of IVF. Most likely, this effect is due to the effect of vitamin D3 on the endometrium. In addition, D3 plays an important role in the correction of obesity and the metabolic syndrome. Studies have revealed that the intake of vitamin D3 mother accompanied by a lower risk of obstructive lung disease in children.
Cardiovascular system.
Vitamin D plays a protective role in maintaining the function of the cardiovascular system. Positively affects the inner layer and the muscular wall of the vessels, as well as processes of blood coagulation (16,17).
Vitamin D helps: 1. Maintaining a healthy immune function. 2. Strengthening of the musculoskeletal system. 3. Improving the energy potential of the organism. 4. the maintenance of normal functioning of the nervous system. 5. maintain normal reproductive function in both women and men.
Important additional information.
Epidemiological studies (19), held in Russia, found that reducing the concentration of vitamin D in the blood is observed in 50-92% of the adult population of working age and children, regardless of the season.
Vitamin D deficiency causes a large proportion of the population are Russian as its insufficient dietary intake and the low level of its synthesis in the skin due to the geographical location of the RF (low insolation) (19).
Impairments associated with a deficiency of vitamin D:
The main manifestation of vitamin D deficiency in children is rickets in adults – osteomalacia.
Older people have vitamin D deficiency in the first place is associated with muscle weakness, poor physical function and imbalance, increased bone fragility.
Commission on dietetic products, nutrition and allergies of the European food agency Committee on Food Safety established between the intake of vitamin D from food and its contribution to the proper functioning of the immune system.
