Description:

Contraindications
Increased sensitivity to the drug, impaired metabolism of amino acids, hypotension, acute and chronic renal failure, hyperkalemia, gipermagniemiya, impaired atrioventricular conduction (AV block I-III st.), Oliguria, anuria, myasthenia gravis, acute metabolic acidosis, impaired metabolism of amino acids, dehydration (exsicosis), hemolysis, Addison’s disease.

Indications

Interaction with other drugs
Pharmacodynamic: combined use of potassium-sparing diuretics (triamterene, spironolactone), beta-blockers, cyclosporine, heparin, ACE inhibitors, nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs increases the risk of hyperkalemia until the development of arrhythmias and asystole. The use of drugs in conjunction with potassium glucocorticosteroids eliminates hypokalemia caused by the latter. Under the influence of potassium decreases the unwanted effects of cardiac glycosides. Magnesium reduces the effect of neomycin, polymyxin B, tetracycline and streptomycin. Anesthetics magnesium increase inhibitory effect of drugs on the central nervous system; while the use of atrakuroniem, decamethonium, succinyl and suxamethonium may increase neuromuscular blockade; calcitriol increases the magnesium content in blood plasma, calcium supplementation reduces the effect of magnesium preparations.

Overdose
Symptoms: hyperkalemia and gipermagniemiya.

side effects
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, epigastric pain (in patients with anatsidnyh gastritis or cholecystitis), hyperkalemia (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and paresthesia) and gipermagniemiya (facial flushing, thirst, bradycardia, decrease in blood pressure, muscle weakness, fatigue paresis, coma, areflexia, respiratory depression, convulsions).
